Auckland Botanic Gardens Sculpture

28 May 2022 | News

In 2021 Richard Mathieson came to us with his latest sculpture idea. We have done a number of sculptures for Richard over the years with the first one back in 2007 also for the Auckland Botanic Gardens. This sculpture was commissioned for the “Sculpture in the gardens 2022” exhibition. Richards Sculpture has since been brought by the Auckland Botanic Gardens and is now a permanent piece at the gardens.

Machining the mounting surfaces, drilling & tapping for mounting to the top of the sculpture.

Checking the gap for the water to flow out of.

Machining the centre axle for the water supply pipes. Water is pumped from the tank in the base up the centre colume where it spills out from underneath the sperical ball and flows down the fountain and back into the tank where its recycled over again.
